I was stunned, if she died wearing clothes of any other color, even if she turned into a ghost, she wouldn't be as insane. But if it was a red-clothed female ghost, the hostility would increase by a level, killing us would be as easy as lifting a finger.
Nervously watching the bathroom, I asked Du Xiaolan if she had made a mistake just now. She vigorously shook her head, saying her eyes were very sharp, and that after I went upstairs, she saw a woman in red clothes float into the bathroom.
After listening, I couldn't help but shudder. If I were as capable as my grandfather, there would be no need to worry at all. But at this moment, I had no ability to deal with the fierce ghost at all, so I could only turn my attention to Andor.
Seemingly aware of my request, Andor quickly crouched behind the sofa, peeking out nervously at me. I didn't have much hope for her, and turned my gaze to the female ghost, who didn't retreat but nodded at me and walked towards the bathroom.
The bathroom door slowly opened, and Du Xiaolan nervously asked me what was going on. Just as I was about to speak, the female ghost emerged from the bathroom and shook her head at me.
"I'll go take a look." I tried to comfort her, knowing there was no danger in the bathroom and realizing that my chance to perform had come.
As I entered the bathroom, there really was no other fierce ghost inside. Just as I turned around to tell Du Xiaolan that everything was fine, a cold wind suddenly swept over me, sending a shiver down my spine. I was about to speak when I saw Andor's hair standing on end behind the sofa.
She was a timid spirit, and seeing her behave like this, I could clearly tell that there was something terrifying behind me.
This thought raced through my mind, and I shouted at Du Xiaolan, who was already dumbstruck: "Run!"
As soon as I shouted, I leaped three feet high and dashed forward as if I had been injected with chicken blood. Reaching the sofa, Du Xiaolan hadn't even reacted, so I grabbed her arm and ran upstairs.
Glancing back, I only saw a flickering red light in front of me, but I didn't dare to look directly, fearing that I might be frightened to the point of collapsing on the ground.
Just as we reached the second floor, the red light reappeared in the corridor. Du Xiaolan let out a loud "Wow," and I immediately turned around and ran back downstairs.
Now we were essentially imprisoned in this villa, with no way to escape the clutches of the fierce ghost. Nervously, I saw the opening at the corner of the stairs and loudly told Du Xiaolan, "Get in there quickly!"
Clearly in a state of panic, she immediately crawled inside. I was about to go in too when Andor suddenly grabbed my trouser leg and looked at me pitifully.
Ghosts are capable of such behavior, clearly not afraid of scaring people to death.
After giving her a disdainful glance, I gestured for her to go in first, and then followed behind. After descending the iron staircase leading to the basement, I turned around and realized that the female ghost hadn't followed our footsteps.
The slow, approaching footsteps echoed through the damp corridor, and I could faintly hear eerie laughter. Not daring to linger, we quickly ran into the small room and used a bed to block the iron door.
At this moment, there were only the two of us and the ghost in the room, along with the pot displayed on the ground. The footsteps outside had disappeared, and I breathed a sigh of relief.
At this moment, we were like mice, and the fierce ghost was like a cat, just wanting to play us to exhaustion. The brief moment of tranquility might just be a sign of the impending storm.
Du Xiaolan paced around the small room, and finally turned her gaze to the pot, asking me what was inside. Thinking of the rotting meat inside, I couldn't help but retch and said there was nothing inside.
She looked puzzled and was about to walk over to open the pot, her curiosity really might kill the cat.
I closed my eyes, trying not to be sick again. But after waiting for a while, I didn't hear Du Xiaolan's exclamation or the sound of retching.
Opening my eyes again, I saw Du Xiaolan standing quietly next to the pot, looking towards the iron door under the flashlight, I saw a pair of shoes in the gap under the door.
She had caught up!
This thought flashed through my mind, and my heart tightened instantly.
"Bang bang bang!" The sound of the iron door being pounded rang out instantly, and I was so scared that I almost stumbled and sat on the ground.
Next to me, Andor also let out a surprised exclamation, and ran straight to the corner like she had been injected with chicken blood.
I spat and took a step back, just as I was about to retreat to the side of Du Xiaolan, a familiar voice suddenly came from outside the door: "Hurry and open the door, it's me!"
"It's that female ghost, brother," Anduo'er called out. I hurried to the door and took down the iron bed.
After closing the iron door, I used the iron bed to block it again. I sighed and, considering Du Xiaolan present, asked quietly, "What just happened? Why did you disappear?"
"I went to the bathroom and found nothing inside. Just as you were coming in and getting ready to go out, that fierce ghost suddenly grabbed me. I struggled desperately just now to break free and finally got out," the female ghost's face still showed some fear.
Just as I was about to speak, Du Xiaolan suddenly asked, "Mingyang, who are you talking to?"
"Nothing, I'm just talking to myself," I said, then turned to the female ghost again and asked, "By the way, after staying with you for so long, I still don't know your name."
"I'm called Zhang Roujin," the female ghost said, then looked at the iron door behind her and asked, "What do we do now? We can't get out of here."
"Let's figure out a solution first," I said quietly, then looked at Anduo'er, who was still huddled in the corner, and said, "Besides being afraid, what else can you do?"
"Me? I can eat," Anduo'er said. I couldn't help but feel extremely exasperated – I was only asking if she had any other way to get us out of here, but this person unexpectedly didn't play by the rules.
Sighing, I looked at Du Xiaolan. Surprisingly, she didn't pressure me further about talking to myself, but instead squatted down and, unlike her usual self, examined the pot on the ground.
I asked her what she was thinking, and Du Xiaolan looked up at me and said, "Mingyang, do you think the pot being placed here serves a purpose?"
"What purpose?" I puzzled and, looking at the pot as if pondering, realized that I had indeed not considered this question pointed out by Du Xiaolan.
She pointed at the pot and said to me, "This pot may have some function. We have thought of many ways but still haven't been able to leave this mansion. Do you think maybe holding this pot will allow us to leave?"
